Ammonia education

Competence people can use under pressure.

Role-specific learning designed by a refrigeration technician and adult educator, from site induction through to practical operator development.

TRAINING

Delivery

Learn. Apply. Verify.

A deliberate progression from technical understanding to practical, observable capability.

01

Build understanding

Connect ammonia properties and system behaviour to the learner’s actual plant.

02

Practise decisions

Use scenarios, demonstrations and field activity to make knowledge usable.

03

Verify capability

Confirm competence through observable evidence, not attendance alone.

Learning pathways

Technical enough to be credible. Practical enough to stick.

Training is matched to the person’s role, exposure and decisions. No generic course dumped on every worker.

30–60 minPOA

Site induction

Essential hazards, alarms, evacuation and site expectations.

2–8 hours$250–$1,200 pp + GST

Ammonia awareness

Properties, exposure, plant basics, prevention and emergency response.

2 days$2,500–$3,500 pp + GST

Advanced ammonia operator development

Developed from Paddy’s advanced course, written, delivered and assessed in New Zealand against NZQA unit standard 30127. Its safety-awareness content closely aligns with UEERA0005, while the practical technical scope extends into UEERA0065, Repair and service ammonia refrigeration systems, informed by 30 years of field experience rather than the minimum unit performance criteria alone.

Practical$750–$1,500 pp + GST

Verification of Competency

Evidence-based assessment of high-risk tasks and operator capability.

Facilitated drillPOA

Emergency Scenario Testing

Site-specific exercises that test decisions, communications, escalation and emergency arrangements under realistic pressure.

Interactive plant-based learning

Learners explore real equipment, locate critical information and practise decisions within a visually familiar operating environment.

Online learning

World-class learning. Available anywhere.

Award-winning digital learning makes specialist ammonia knowledge easier to access across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Purposeful AI integrations support a more engaging and responsive experience, helping learners explore technical concepts, test understanding and receive useful feedback. Flexible delivery. Consistent content. Less time away from the plant.

Ammonia safety training

Role-specific programs for people who work on or around industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.

Training outcomes

In their words.

Credible training should change what people notice, discuss and do when they return to the plant.

Great course and highly recommended. I have completed both this and the UK’s version, City & Guilds 2078, and this course smokes it. Whatever your experience with ammonia, you will walk away more informed.
